SDG 15: Life on Land
SDG 15: Life on Land
MSUN’s environmental research extends beyond the coast to the uplands, where it leads reforestation, biodiversity assessment, and habitat conservation projects. The university collaborates with local agencies and communities to restore degraded lands and protect watersheds. These initiatives not only preserve terrestrial biodiversity but also sustain the natural resources essential to agriculture, food security, and rural livelihoods.
The MSUN LUDIP promotes sustainable campus growth by aligning land use planning with environmental stewardship. It protects natural areas, improves water and waste management, and supports climate responsive design across academic, residential, and research zones. The plan guides development toward efficient resource use and greener infrastructure that lowers flood risk and reduces pollution. By integrating biodiversity protection, open space conservation, and resilient facilities planning, the MSUN LUDIP ensures that campus expansion remains responsible, low impact, and supportive of long term ecological and community well being.
