SDG 2: Zero Hunger
SDG 2: Zero Hunger
MSUN combats hunger and food insecurity through innovative research and training in sustainable fisheries, aquaculture, and agricultural production systems. The university’s laboratories and research centers develop technologies that improve fish farming practices, crop yield, and food processing methods. Extension programs train farmers and fisherfolk in environmentally sound food production while promoting responsible resource use. By linking academic research with community-based applications, MSUN ensures that local food systems are productive, resilient, and equitable—providing both nourishment and livelihoods for generations.
MSU at Naawan provides local farmers and food producers with access to knowledge, skills, and technologies in food security, sustainable agriculture, and aquaculture. Through its research and extension programs, the university conducts hands-on trainings, demonstration projects, and research-to-practice initiatives on sustainable aquaculture, integrated farming, feed formulation, and climate-resilient practices. Farmers gain practical skills and technologies to improve productivity, ensure environmental sustainability, and strengthen local food security.
