SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
MSUN contributes to economic growth by nurturing a skilled and ethical workforce through quality education and hands-on training. Programs in fisheries, marine sciences, and business education equip students and community members with employable skills and entrepreneurial capabilities. Through research commercialization and livelihood projects, MSUN strengthens local economies and promotes decent work opportunities that align with sustainable development values—ensuring growth that uplifts communities without harming the environment.
MSU at Naawan recognizes unions and associations for its employees and students. For employees, formal structures such as the MSU at Naawan Faculty Union and the Employees Mutual Benefit Assistance provide representation, welfare support, and a platform for collective concerns. For students, recognized bodies like the Supreme Student Council and course- or college-based student organizations ensure that students can participate in governance, voice concerns, and engage in decision-making processes affecting their academic and campus life.
