The Mindanao State University at Naawan Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (MSUN ATBI) visited the Local Government Units of Manticao, Lugait, and Naawan, collectively known as MANLUNA, on February 11, 2025, to reinforce collaboration in supporting local entrepreneurs and advancing technology-driven enterprises in the Agri-Aqua sector.
This initiative forms part of the National Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation Program and the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program in Northern Mindanao, both supported by DOST-PCAARRD. Through these programs, MSUN ATBI aims to stimulate inclusive and sustainable economic growth by empowering technology generators, startups, and small businesses in Agri-Aqua with the resources, mentorship, and support necessary for enterprise development.
The visit provided an avenue to strengthen partnerships with the MANLUNA LGUs, recognizing their crucial role in fostering innovation and enabling local enterprises to thrive. Discussions focused on identifying areas for collaboration, local innovation needs, and ways to support community-based entrepreneurs who stand to benefit from the incubation program.
The engagement also laid the groundwork for the upcoming ATBI Preincubation and Onboarding Program scheduled for February 26–27, 2025, at MSUN. During this event, the center will formally welcome its first batch of incubatees into the business incubation program, marking a significant milestone in MSUN ATBI’s mission to cultivate Agri-Aqua enterprises in the region.
MSUN ATBI extends its heartfelt appreciation to the MANLUNA LGUs for their warm reception and unwavering support. Gratitude is given to Honorable Mayor Stephen S. Tan of Manticao, represented by Municipal Administrator Ms. Clevic Irish L. Habil; Honorable Mayor Willie G. Lim of Lugait, alongside Dr. Patricio Parami, MEEDO Lugait Head, and Ms. Elfie T. Montilla, MAO-OIC; and Honorable Mayor Dennis L. Roa of Naawan, represented by Ms. Rowena B. Leotero, MEEDO Head.
Through strengthened partnerships and shared commitment to innovation, MSUN ATBI and the MANLUNA LGUs aim to drive meaningful, technology-based economic growth for the benefit of local communities across Northern Mindanao.
