On September 11, 2024, the Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (ATBI), led by Prof. Mechie Clar-Florida, conducted an information drive for selected livestock and poultry farmers in Manticao, Misamis Oriental. The event, held at the ABC Hall, was part of a broader three-day extension initiative organized by MSUN through the Office of Extension Division and the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Science (CAFES). Titled “Training-Seminar on the Production and Utilization of Alternative Feed Resources,” the program aimed to equip farmers with essential knowledge and practical skills to optimize the use of feed resources, enhance productivity, and improve overall farm management.
Prof. Mechie Clar-Florida, an expert in feed production and animal nutrition, played a pivotal role in the program as both a project collaborator and a key resource person for MSUN ATBI. Her guidance and expertise provided participants with a deeper understanding of sustainable feed practices and strategies to increase the efficiency and profitability of their livestock and poultry operations. Beyond technical knowledge, the activity emphasized the opportunities offered by the ATBI program, encouraging farmer-entrepreneurs to enroll and benefit from comprehensive support in business development, technology adoption, and enterprise incubation.
The training generated significant enthusiasm among participants, who expressed strong interest in joining the ATBI program to further develop their farm-based enterprises. MSUN ATBI looks forward to welcoming these farmers to its center, providing them with tailored mentorship, access to innovative technologies, and the resources needed to scale their operations. By fostering the growth of local agripreneurs, this initiative not only strengthens the livelihoods of participating farmers but also contributes to the broader development of sustainable livestock and poultry production in the region.
