“Painting is a combination of art and skill; if you have the skill, you can just draw without erasures,” said Dr. Elnor C. Roa, University Chancellor, emphasizing the importance of practice and confidence in artistic expression.
The final day of the three-day art workshop saw students from Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) and the Integrated Developmental School (IDS) showcase their creative outputs at the university’s Function House on February 15, 2024. The event highlighted the students’ enthusiasm, talent, and dedication to the arts.
The activity was graced by Dr. Elnor C. Roa, University Chancellor; Assistant Professor Gergie A. Ambato, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; and Ms. Arlene B. Uy, MBA, Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development, who expressed their support and admiration for the students’ artistic achievements.
Resource speaker Mr. Kenchin also conveyed his appreciation for the students’ willingness to learn and their remarkable skills. His guidance and dedication inspired participants to deepen their love for art, continue honing their craft, and celebrate their creative expression.
The workshop not only celebrated artistic talent but also highlighted the vibrant spirit of creativity within the university. Under the leadership of Associate Professor Rosevel B. Colegado, Director of Cultural and Sports Development, and with the support of dedicated educators, the event successfully fostered a greater appreciation for the arts and encouraged emerging artists to explore and showcase their creativity.
