MSU Naawan – Gender and Development Office successfully concluded its Women’s Month Culmination Activity on March 26, 2025, with a dialogue focusing on “A Work-Life Balance: Managing Stress and Burnout for Women.” The event was held at the MSUN Function House and attended by employees from various departments, reflecting a shared commitment to promoting women’s well-being in the workplace.
Ms. Lucy P. Bagonon, MAED-EM, Vice President of the National Alliance of Women Philippines, served as the resource speaker. Her session provided valuable perspectives on recognizing the signs of burnout, understanding the causes of stress, and applying practical strategies to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
During her talk, Ms. Bagonon highlighted how women often juggle multiple responsibilities, balancing professional work with family duties. She emphasized that unmanaged stress can lead to burnout, affecting not only individual well-being but also productivity and relationships.
She offered actionable strategies to help women manage these pressures, including:
Time Management Techniques: Prioritizing tasks and avoiding multitasking to prevent cognitive overload.
Setting Boundaries: Learning to say no and creating a clear separation between work and personal life.
Self-Care Practices: Taking breaks, engaging in physical activity, and practicing mindfulness to maintain mental health.
Building Support Systems: Seeking help from colleagues, family, and friends to ease the burden and prevent isolation.
The event provided a safe and supportive space for participants to share their experiences and ask questions during the open forum. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the practical insights offered by Ms. Bagonon and emphasized the need for continued support in addressing workplace stress and achieving work-life balance.
As a token of appreciation, certificates and tokens were awarded to the resource speaker and to key participants who actively engaged in the discussions. The event concluded with closing remarks from Assoc. Prof. Desheree Judean G. Preciado, GAD Coordinator and IPDM Director, who underscored the importance of fostering an environment where women can thrive personally and professionally.
The Women’s Month Dialogue served as a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and addressing the unique challenges women face in maintaining work-life balance. MSU Naawan remains committed to empowering women through education, advocacy, and support, ensuring that every woman can achieve her full potential.
