The competitive spirit of the Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) employees filled the campus grounds as the University celebrated three significant milestones: the 64th MSU Founding Anniversary, the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, and the opening of the MSUN Employees Sports and Cultural Fest 2025 on September 1, 2025.
These annual celebrations served as a vibrant platform for employees to embody inclusivity, camaraderie, and excellence as a series of meaningful activities unfolded throughout the day.
“In opening our annual Sportsfest, we are reminded that sports are more than just games, they are a testament to unity, perseverance, and the strength of community,” shared MSUN Chancellor Dr. Elnor C. Roa, in a message delivered by Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Asst. Prof. Gergie A. Ambato.
Fueled by teamwork and determination, teams Megabyte, Optimal Oracle, Vanguards, and Exabyte Elites embraced the challenge. Each group proudly showcased its identity and solidarity through dynamic performances and spirited engagement.
The team float parade set the lively tone, with muses, escorts, and vibrant banners representing the pride of each contingent. Cheers echoed throughout town as the community gathered to witness the colorful display of creativity and unity.
Adding depth to the celebration, Employee Wellness Committee Chair Assoc. Prof. Juvy Arjona launched the Wellness Program, an initiative that provides monthly opportunities for reflection, rejuvenation, and personal growth. This program underscores MSUN’s commitment to holistic well-being among its workforce.
The Panika, the official MSUN Merchandise Hub, also opened its doors, offering students, employees, and visitors a dedicated space to express their MSUN pride through quality university-branded merchandise.
In the afternoon, the celebration continued with Laro ng Lahi and the Quiz Bowl, activities that tested each team’s strength, strategy, wit, and collaboration. These contests affirmed that the MSUN community thrives not only through academic and administrative excellence but also through unity, joy, and shared experiences.
As the day drew to a close, one truth stood out: at MSU at Naawan, every step, every cheer, and every collective effort reflects a community bound by inclusivity, passion, and purpose. Beyond the games and festivities, what endures is the unwavering spirit of togetherness, stronger, prouder, and united.
