In a strong demonstration of environmental stewardship, 1st to 4th year students of the BS Marine Biology and BS Marine Science programs of Mindanao State University at Naawan joined forces for a successful coastal cleanup activity on October 16, 2024. The initiative brought together young environmental advocates committed to protecting marine ecosystems and preserving the natural beauty of the coastal environment.
Armed with gloves, sacks, and a shared sense of responsibility, students worked collectively to remove debris and litter along the shoreline. Their efforts not only contribute to safeguarding marine life from the harmful effects of pollution but also reinforce the importance of community involvement in environmental conservation.
This activity underscores MSUN’s vital role in shaping responsible and environmentally conscious citizens. As a university rooted in marine and fisheries sciences, MSUN continues to lead impactful initiatives that promote sustainability, environmental awareness, and hands-on learning. By empowering students to take part in real-world conservation efforts, the institution strengthens its commitment to protecting coastal resources and championing a sustainable future.
Through consistent and meaningful actions like this cleanup drive, MSUN proves that preserving the environment is a shared mission, one that begins with collective action, education, and a deep respect for nature. Let’s continue making waves of positive change for generations to come.
