In line with its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates, the Department of Accountancy and Business Management of the College of Business and Accountancy and Administration at Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) conducted site visits to Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) students currently undergoing on-the-job training (OJT) this semester.
On March 22, 2024, the department’s designated practicum coordinators, Dr. Estherlina Pontioso, Asst. Prof. Djannez Dadole, Asst. Prof. Heidie Amor Parcia, and Asst. Prof. Felix Villaluz II, conducted site visits to BSBA Human Resource Management and BSBA Marketing Management students deployed in various partner establishments.
The primary aim of the activity was to monitor and support the ongoing internship experiences of students, ensuring that they are aligned with the intended learning outcomes and program objectives. These visits also provided an avenue for coordinators to engage with supervisors from partner institutions to gather feedback on student performance and strengthen the collaborative framework between MSUN and its host training establishments.
MSUN-CBAA expressed its deep appreciation to its partner organizations for their continued support in honing students’ competencies and enhancing their practical understanding of core business principles. The college recognizes the invaluable contribution of these establishments in bridging the gap between academic instruction and real-world application.
The practicum site visits had a threefold impact. For students, they reinforced the relevance of academic preparation to workplace expectations and fostered professionalism, critical thinking, and adaptability. For the host establishments, the collaboration not only added value to their operations but also allowed them to take part in shaping the next generation of business professionals. For MSU at Naawan, the activity reaffirmed its commitment to experiential learning, industry linkage, and continuous improvement in program implementation.
This initiative further underscores the university’s efforts in advancing quality education, meaningful partnerships, and student-centered learning, ensuring that graduates are not only academically prepared but are also equipped with the skills and insights required to thrive in the evolving business landscape.
