On February 14th, celebrated by many as Heart's Day, we at the Extension Division expressed our love and commitment to our community partners and stakeholders through a consultation meeting with the Shunammite Child Learning Center (PH1920) and Open Heavens Centerpoint (PH665) from Linamon, Lanao Del Norte, and Suarez, Iligan City, respectively. This meeting, requested by PH1920 and PH665, aimed to assist them in planning and implementing livelihood projects. Mariefe B. Quiñones, Director for Extension, warmly welcomed the group, emphasizing our dedication to supporting their initiatives. During the consultation, Prof. Renoir A. Abrea, Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, reiterated our commitment and pledged support to the two centers in achieving their goals for their constituents.
With the support of Dr. Sonnie A. Vedra, MSU at Naawan, through the College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Environmental Science (CAFES), will provide assistance to the two centers in drafting project proposals related to goat raising, free-range chicken farming, vegetable production, and aquaponics, which will be funded by Compassion Philippines.
Following the meeting, a courtesy call was made to Chancellor Elnor C. Roa, who assured PH1920 and PH665 of MSU at Naawan's continued support and assistance in their endeavors. The meeting concluded with a visit to CAFES' goat production, organic chicken farming, and aquaponics facilities, providing insight into what their livelihood projects will entail, from facilities to farm management. This collaboration promises a fruitful partnership for community development.
