On September 30, 2025, MSU at Naawan’s Level 2 nursing students transformed classroom learning into meaningful, compassionate action as they culminated their Community Health Nursing (CHN) immersion. Over the course of six days, the students were fully engaged in various local barangays, applying their knowledge and skills, strengthening their understanding of public health, and building genuine connections with the communities they served.
The success of their immersion was made possible through strong and inspiring partnerships with local frontline health workers. MSUN extends its heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated barangay health workers (BHWs), public health nurses, midwives, and barangay nutrition scholars who generously shared their expertise, guided the students throughout their immersion, and actively participated in the Basic Life Support (BLS) training facilitated by the university’s faculty. Their collaboration enriched the students’ learning experiences and provided valuable community-based insights that extended far beyond the classroom.
MSUN also acknowledges the unwavering support of Hon. Mayor Dennis L. Roa, whose leadership and commitment to public health continue to foster meaningful collaborations between the municipality and the university. His encouragement helped shape this initiative not just as an academic requirement, but as a collective mission to uplift the health and well-being of the community.
This joint effort reflects more than cooperation, it represents MSUN’s continued dedication to service, empowerment, and holistic development. Together with its partners, the university nurtures not only healthier communities but also the values of empathy, compassion, and humanity that lie at the heart of true public health service.
