In a strong demonstration of compassion and public service, the Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) Infirmary, in collaboration with Amai Pakpak Medical Center, successfully conducted a Mobile Blood Donation Drive on January 23, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the university campus.
The activity brought together students, faculty, staff, and local community members in a shared mission to help save lives by donating blood. The medical team from Amai Pakpak Medical Center efficiently facilitated the collection process, ensuring that donors were well-informed, safe, and cared for throughout the procedure.
Adding to the atmosphere of goodwill and volunteerism, the Philippine Army extended its support not only through presence but by offering free haircuts to donors and visitors. This thoughtful gesture was warmly received by participants and contributed to the spirit of service and unity.
The blood donation drive is part of MSUN’s continued efforts to promote health awareness, community involvement, and social responsibility. By engaging both internal and external partners, the university fosters a culture of civic duty and public health consciousness, while addressing the constant demand for safe blood supply in hospitals and healthcare facilities.
The success of this event highlights the value of inter-agency cooperation and the power of community-led initiatives. It also sets a positive example for other institutions, reinforcing that small acts of kindness — like donating blood — can have a life-changing impact.
