On October 9, 2024, the vibrant community of Mindanao State University at Naawan came together at the MSUN oval ground to celebrate the exhilarating opening ceremony of the annual Employees’ Sportsfest. This much-awaited event brought faculty and staff from various departments into one energetic space, strengthening bonds and igniting a spirit of camaraderie and friendly competition.
Under the bright afternoon sun, excitement filled the air as teams Blue Hydra, Yellow Orca, Red Megalodon, and Green Electric Eel marched proudly around the oval. With their colorful banners waving high, each team displayed creativity, unity, and unmistakable pride. The parade marked the beginning of a season filled with enthusiasm and shared purpose.
The opening ceremony did more than signal the start of a competition, it set the tone for a months-long journey toward MSUN’s founding anniversary in December. From that day onward, every Wednesday afternoon will be dedicated to a series of engaging games and sporting activities. These weekly gatherings are designed not only to energize and entertain but also to bring employees and students together, fostering a deeper sense of community across the campus.
More importantly, the Employees’ Sportsfest serves as a meaningful avenue for wellness. Through active participation, laughter, teamwork, and healthy competition, faculty and staff are encouraged to maintain balance, relieve stress, and embrace a lifestyle of physical and mental well-being. These simple yet impactful moments, shared on the field, in the cheering crowds, and throughout every game, reflect MSUN’s commitment to nurturing a healthy, supportive, and united community.
As the countdown to the university’s founding anniversary continues, the excitement lives on every week, reminding everyone at MSUN that wellness thrives where connection, collaboration, and joy are nurtured.
