Last week May 3, 2024, the Mindanao State University at Naawan Faculty Union, in collaboration with the MSUN administration, successfully sponsored a Free X-Ray/Chest Radiography Screening for all MSUN employees. This initiative reflects the Faculty Union’s ongoing commitment to the welfare and health of the university community, highlighting the shared responsibility of both faculty and administration in promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
The program, implemented in partnership with the Health Check Clinic and Diagnostic Center, a leading health laboratory based in Cagayan de Oro City, provided employees with professional diagnostic services directly on campus. A total of 300 members of the MSUN workforce were able to benefit from the mobile X-ray facility, allowing them to undergo comprehensive chest radiography conveniently and efficiently.
This initiative not only addresses the immediate healthcare needs of the university staff but also underscores the Faculty Union’s proactive role in supporting employee well-being. By prioritizing preventive health measures, the project contributes to early detection of potential health issues, encourages a culture of wellness, and strengthens the overall resilience of the university community.
Moreover, the program serves as a model of collaboration between the Faculty Union and university administration, demonstrating how institutional partnerships can create impactful and meaningful benefits for staff. Beyond the health benefits, this effort fosters a sense of care, support, and recognition for employees’ contributions to the university, reinforcing the university’s commitment to nurturing both professional growth and personal well-being.
Indeed, the Free X-Ray Screening initiative exemplifies the dedication of the MSUN Faculty Union to championing the welfare of faculty members and non-teaching staff alike, setting a benchmark for future health and wellness programs on campus.
