Like a supportive older sibling, Mindanao State University at Naawan extended its hand to guide and empower Mindanao State University – Maigo School of Arts and Trades (MSU-MSAT) in advancing its extension programs. Spearheaded by Chancellor Dr. Elnor C. Roa, a team of experts from MSUN served as resource persons during the Training-Workshop on Extension Project Proposal and Management held on January 10–11, 2024 at the MSU-MSAT campus in Maigo, Lanao del Norte.
The two-day training aimed to build the capacity of MSU-MSAT faculty and staff in crafting, implementing, and managing effective extension programs that are responsive to community needs. MSUN’s experienced faculty and extension professionals shared best practices, practical tools, and insights gained from years of community engagement and development work.
More than just a training, the event also became a platform for deeper collaboration. A strategic meeting involving MSU-MSAT administrators, the Local Government Unit of Maigo, and MSU at Naawan representatives was held to identify potential areas for partnership. These include joint extension initiatives, community-based research, and collaborative outreach programs that directly benefit the people of Lanao del Norte.
“We are honored to support MSU-MSAT in building strong, relevant, and impactful extension programs. This is part of our commitment to sharing knowledge and fostering development across the MSU System,” said Dr. Roa.
The activity reflects MSUN’s ongoing mission to be a catalyst for regional development, not only through research and instruction but also through meaningful partnerships and extension work that uplift communities and build institutional capacity within the MSU System.
