In celebration of National Arts Month 2024, Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) became a hub of artistic expression and cultural appreciation through a series of creative workshops held under the national theme “Ani ng Sining, Bayang Malikhain.”
The celebration began with a free music training and workshop for vocalists and instrumentalists conducted on February 5, 2024, organized by the Cultural and Sports Development Office (CSDO). Open to the entire MSUN community, the workshop provided participants with foundational and advanced techniques in vocal and instrumental performance. It served as a platform to develop local talent and reinforce the role of music in strengthening cultural identity and unity on campus.
This was followed by a three-day visual arts workshop held from February 14 to 16, 2024, at the Training and Student Activity Center. The event was a collaborative effort among the CSDO, Supreme Student Council, and Pahid Alampat Visual Artists of MSUN, designed to engage participants in hands-on artistic activities such as painting and other visual art forms.
Led by local artist Mr. Kenchin, the workshop offered not only practical instruction and creative techniques but also an open space for artistic dialogue and expression. Participants had the opportunity to explore their artistic potential, exchange ideas, and contribute to the growing creative energy within the university.
Through these events, MSUN reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cultural enrichment and artistic development among students and staff. The workshops successfully fostered a deeper appreciation of the arts while strengthening the sense of community and cultural pride within the university.
MSUN’s celebration of National Arts Month 2024 stood as a testament to the university’s belief in the power of the arts to inspire, unite, and transform.
