The Research and Extension Publication Office (REPO) of MSU at Naawan proudly hosted its first JEAR Writing Boot Camp last June 9 to 11, 2025. Over three days, select graduate students and alumni honed their scientific writing skills, refined their manuscripts, and gained guidance toward scholarly publication.
The event opened with a welcome address by Dr. Ruby C. Gonzales, Director of the Technical and Support Services Center, who underscored the importance of effective scientific communication in bridging knowledge gaps and amplifying research impact.
Guided by lectures from Dr. Rey Y. Capangpangan, Dr. Venus E. Leopardas, Assoc. Prof. Kaent Immanuel N. Uba, and Ms. Marnelle Sornito, along with personalized mentoring and collaborative writing sessions, participants gained the skills to write with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
More than just a workshop, the boot camp set the stage for future breakthroughs in research by helping aspiring authors build confidence, sharpen their writing, and build meaningful connections. It provided a supportive space to develop ideas and prepare participants for the next steps in sharing their work and contributing to their fields.
