On May 22, 2026, Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSUN) successfully concluded its five-day AACCUP Preliminary Survey Visit, receiving commendation from the evaluation team for its strong commitment to academic excellence, quality instruction, student services, and continuous institutional improvement.
During the evaluation, accreditors reviewed the University’s programs, facilities, systems, and support services, noting the collective effort of faculty, staff, and offices in ensuring that documents, processes, and institutional practices were aligned with accreditation standards.
As part of the visit, MSUN also presented a virtual campus tour on May 21 for the BSBA major in Marketing Management, which provided evaluators with an overview of key campus facilities.
The presentation was spearheaded by College of Business and Information Technology (CBIT) faculty members Assoc. Prof. Heslie Ree P. Pontillo and Asst. Prof. Oliver Daniel J. Vicente.
AACCUP Coordinator Dr. Ma. Florida T. Quijano expressed appreciation for the presentation, saying, “Natuwa po ako sa mga facilities na ipinakita niyo sa campus tour. Kahit wala ako diyan naramdaman ko po na kasama po ako physically sa tour.”
During the closing ceremony, AACCUP Coordinator Dr. Jovita Espineda-Villanueva delivered the Statement of Commitment, recognizing the dedication and collaborative efforts of the MSUN faculty and staff who extended time and effort to address concerns raised during the evaluation.
Representatives from the different colleges also expressed gratitude for the support extended throughout the review. Ms. Jolibe Llido, on behalf of the College of Environment and Life Sciences (CELS), thanked the various offices for their cooperation and acknowledged the dedication of colleagues in responding to the accreditors’ suggestions. Asst. Prof. Dianne Kate Nacua of the College of Education and Social Sciences (CESS) described the conclusion of the visit as “a collective sigh of relief and a profound sigh of deep gratitude,” encouraging the community to carry the feedback forward as they continue “Forging Minds for a Better Tomorrow.” Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Junaisah Nissi L. Degoma of the College of Business and Information Technology (CBIT) noted that the evaluation team’s guidance would further strengthen their programs in pursuit of institutional excellence.
While the visit served as the initial evaluation of the programs, the University now awaits the final assessment, which is expected to be released within three months.
Through this rigorous accreditation process, MSUN continues to strengthen its systems, programs, and services as a progressive and student-centered institution committed to meeting the expectations of its stakeholders, community, and the nation.
